• 12 of the 19 are Border Police or police career officers, while 7 are IDF soldiers or Border Police officers completing their mandatory service.
The Rehabilitation Department presented the new cases to the Knesset Comptroller’s Committee on Wednesday, noting that among the disabled veterans recognized since October 2015, 12 are police or Border Police career officers, while seven are soldiers or Border Police officers completing their mandatory service.
The status of disability cases filed by soldiers for injuries sustained during 2014’s Operation Protective Edge was also discussed on Wednesday.
The department noted that of 594 requests for recognition of disability received by the Defense Ministry, 337 came from reserve soldiers, 199 from soldiers in mandatory service, and 58 from career officers.
