Israel invited to join int’l unit to combat terror financing & covert money-laundering

The Justice Ministry on Monday announced that Israel has been selected to join an elite global task force for combating terror financing and money-laundering, with the force’s top officials currently visiting Israel.

WATCH: Anonymous vows #Op_Israel ‘Electronic Holocaust’ in April

In new video, the hacker group ‘Anonymous’, threatens to take down Israeli sites & servers on April 7, promising to ‘erase you from cyberspace’.

A video released this week by the Anonymous hacker collective vowed to inflict an “Electronic Holocaust” on Israel.

The video shows a masked individual in a suit delivering a prepared statement, in which he announces April 7 as the date of a concerted attack on Israel’s online servers. “As we did many times, we will take down your servers, government websites, Israeli military websites, and Israeli institutions,” he said.

Netanyahu forced to mediate which Israeli security agency controls state cyber defense

Israel’s Prime Minister is expected to make a decision on the cyber-defense issue this week after procrastinating for months.

 

The Shin Bet security service and National Cyber Bureau have been waging a months-long battle over authority for protecting Israel’s economy and civilian institutions against cyber attacks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken on the cyber issue as a personal project — the bureau is part of the Prime Minister’s Office, and he has defined cyber attacks as one of the four main threats to Israel.
