Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, announced Wednesday that the body will scrutinize the new Palestinian textbooks for content that incites hate and violence, out of concern that EU aid funds are being used to promote hatred.

EU’s Federica Mogherini cancels trip to Israel, after Netanyahu snub

A Foreign Affairs source said they were confused after hearing that EU foreign affairs chief had canceled her visit to Israel.
– The diplomatic source said she wasn’t invited by Israel, since “Mogherini’s positions are very hostile toward Israel.”
– Apparently a pro-Israel organization had invited her to speak at their conference.

Senior European officials said Tuesday that the new information Israel has revealed on Iran’s nuclear aspirations could impact the ongoing talks to revise the 2015 deal ahead of the May 12 deadline set by the United States.

The Trump White House was none too impressed by the Palestinian leadership’s temper tantrum following the president’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

And the Americans were downright scornful after the Palestinians then went crying to Europe and attempted to eject Trump from the Middle East peace process.

EU foreign policy chief vows to declare Jerusalem capital of Palestine

The European Union chastised President Donald Trump over his hesitation to renew a waiver permitting the US embassy to remain in Tel Aviv, and warned him of “serious repercussions” if the US recognizes Israel’s capital city, Jerusalem.

The European Union’s new foreign affairs chief, Federica Mogherini, visited the region over the weekend and insisted on the urgent need for a Palestinian state with the eastern half of Jerusalem as its capital.

“We need a Palestinian state – that is the ultimate goal and this is the position of all the European Union,” said Mogherini while in the Gaza Strip, adding later during her stop in Ramallah that “Jerusalem can be and should be the capital of two states.”
