15,000 participants gathered in northern Israel to honor fallen Druze soldiers

 

The annual event was co-founded by Druze officer Brig. Gen. Amal Assad and is dedicated to honoring the memory of Druze killed fighting for Israel, in manor that conforms to community’s beliefs, which preclude physical memorials.

A weekend event in northern Israel dedicated to a show of solidarity with Israel’s Druze community and honoring Druze soldiers who have been killed fighting in the country’s wars drew over 15,000 participants.

The event took place on the paths of the Carmel mountain ridge near the Druze towns of Daliyat al-Karmel‎ and Isfiya‎.

Bereaved families yelled at Israel PM Netanyahu: ‘You’re freeing our children’s killers’

 

Israel’s annual Memorial service held at Mount Herzl disrupted when families of victims of terrorist attacks start yelling at Israel’s Prime Minister.

Netanyahu responds: ‘Today, the waves of hate of our enemies shatter at the defensive shield, the iron wall of the IDF.’

The memorial service for Victims of Terror Acts was disrupted Monday afternoon when bereaved families prevented Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of starting his speech by yelling at him and waving red flags.

Haredim caught desecrating memorial fountain for 73 fallen IDF soldiers

 

Mushav Shear Yashuv residents digusted to find haredi tourists bathing in a memorial fountain, which was dedicated to the 73 IDF soldiers who were killed in a terrible 1997 helicopter accident.

Haredi tourists: “Memorials constitute idolatry.”

A fracas erupted Tuesday between tourists at a memorial for the victims of a military helicopter accident near the Galilee town of Shear Yashuv, after several haredim were caught bathing in the monument fountain.

The haredi tourists apparently stripped down to their bathing suits and decided to go for a swim in the memorial fountain, which was dedicated to 73 IDF soldiers who died when two military helicopters collided in the skies over Shear Yashuv in 1997.
