Iraqi Jewish woman reunites with her family in Israel after previously-secular husband threatened to sell her to Islamic terror group if she doesn’t convert.

A Jewish woman was reunited this week with her family in the town of Patish in southern Israel after she fled northern Iraq, following threats by her husband to sell her into slavery with the ISIS terror organization.

According to a report by Channel 2, the woman, a member of the Avrahami family, was married to a previously secular Muslim man, who had recently embraced a radical form of Islam – and demanded she do the same. Continue Reading »

Iraq seeks compensation from Israel for destroying nuclear reactor in 1981

The first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Homam Hamoudi, announced that Iraq plans to sue Israel for monetary compensation for carrying out Operation Opera, Israeli attack on the Osirak nuclear reactor in southeastern Baghdad which occurred on June 7, 1981 .

A statement published by Turkish news agency Anatolia said that “the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament has to raise the issue in the international arena and give it special attention, especially as it is the 35th anniversary of the Israeli attack against the nuclear reactor.” Continue Reading »

Iraqi MP: ‘Israel & Iraq share interests. Time to establish diplomatic ties with Israel’

The Iraqi leader of the Ummah Party further criticized the Arab World for not admitting ISIS is an Arab/Islamic creation, berating his colleagues for blaming its creation on Israel & the West.

In an interview with Kuwait’s daily newspaper al-Rai from earlier this month, Iraqi MP and leader of the Ummah Party, Mithal al-Alusi, called on Iraq to establish ties with Israel and expressed hope to see an Iraqi embassy in Israel at some point in the near future.

The outspoken al-Alusi, who has previously visited Israel a number of times, referred to diplomatic relations with Israel as “our [Iraqi] interest,” and added that he does not want Baghdad’s interests to be solely to “Abu Mazen,” the name by which Mahmoud Abbas is commonly referred to in the Arab World.

Report: Israel loses 2nd drone, now in Iraq

 

Just days after Iran reportedly shot down an Israeli spy-drone, a Lebanese news channel reports that the Israeli UAV crash-landed near the Baghdad airport.

An Iranian general says the drone they shot down earlier in the week came from north.

The Hezbollah-affiliated “Al Miadin” news channel reported Thursday that an Israeli-made Hermes drone crashed near the Baghdad airport area. Representatives of the US embassy in Iraq arrived on the scene and collected the pieces of the broken aircraft, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.
