Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has threatened to dismantle the PA should US Secretary of State John Kerry fail to “salvage the peace process,” a senior PA official said Tuesday.

Hussein al-Sheikh, the PA minister for civilian affairs, said that Abbas has informed Kerry that the PA’s functional role would end if current efforts to revive the peace process did not succeed.

“Israel, as an occupying force, would then have to assume full responsibility [over the Palestinian population],” Sheikh told the PA’s Voice of Palestine radio station.

Weapon warehouse in residential home in Gaza explodes, 1 dead, 14 injured

Palestinians accuse Hamas of storing weapons in a residential home located in Gaza City’s Al-Zawiya market, saying that the explosion which killed 1 & injured 14 on Thursday happened in a secret Hamas ammunition warehouse.

Palestinian factions and human rights organizations have called on Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups to stop storing weapons in residential areas following another explosion, which killed one person and injured 14 others on Thursday.

They also demanded a thorough investigation into the explosion in order to hold those responsible accountable.

PA Security Forces arrest Palestinian singer for performing in Jewish town

Less than a month following the death in a PA jail of an outspoken critic of the Abbas regime, now the Palestinian security forces have arrested an unnamed Palestinian singer for performing in front of [Jewish] “settlers & prostitutes.”

Palestinian Authority security forces have arrested a Palestinian singer for performing in the Samaria settlement of Ariel.

The singer, a resident of the West Bank village of Kafr ad-Dik, will be tried on charges of promoting normalization with Israel, people familiar with the matter told The Jerusalem Post.

Palestinian petitions Israeli court to block funds to corrupt PA officials

Egypt acknowledges destroying over 3,000 Gaza terror-tunnels

Palestinians stop producing fake coronavirus masks, hand sanitizer

Over 40 Palestinians arrested on charges of manufacturing ineffective face masks, useless hand sanitizers and price gouging according to a PA official.

The Palestinian Authority has in the past two weeks closed several factories and businesses whose owners were caught manufacturing unlicensed face masks and hand sanitizers that were being sold to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

More than 40 suspects have been arrested on charges of fraud, price gouging and manufacturing unlicensed products, said an official with the PA Ministry of National Economy.

The crackdown came in response to complaints from many Palestinians that the products did not meet the standards and regulations of the PA Ministry of Health and Ministry of National Economy, the official said. Continue Reading »

Palestinians tell ICC they have sole sovereignty over ‘State of Palestine’

The Palestinians on Monday submitted their observations to the International Criminal Court regarding the ICC prosecutor’s request for a determination on the scope of its jurisdiction in the “State of Palestine.”

A senior Fatah official who called into question the mental health of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has been arrested by the Palestinian security forces.

Hussam Khader, 59, an elected member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), was arrested by PA security forces at this home in Balata refugee camp in Nablus on Friday.

Palestinian lawyers have launched an initiative to file lawsuits in the US and Europe against politicians and businessmen who accept US President Donald Trump’s recently unveiled plan for Mideast peace.

The initiative comes on the eve of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s address to the UN Security Council, where he is expected to urge the international community to reject the Trump plan.

Palestinian convicted of selling land to Jews dies in custody

The Palestinian inmate, whose identity is still unknown, was arrested in 2012 by the PA security forces for his involvement in the sale of land to Jews.

A Palestinian prisoner who was accused of selling land to Jews died in a hospital run by the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Ramallah.

A PA court had sentenced the man to ten years in prison for his involvement in real estate transactions “with the enemy,” PA police spokesman Luay Zreikat said.
