Ignored by US media, Gulf media hot on Clinton’s emails on Muslim Brotherhood

Al-Ain media reports emails showed Obama/Biden backed the religious extremist Muslim Brotherhood control over Egypt; another just days after US Amb. Chris Stevens was murdered in Benghazi, referenced a Muslim Brotherhood media venture. Articles asserted how the Democrat administration sought to “bring the Brotherhood in all of the Mid-East.”

Media in the Gulf, particularly Al-Ain and Al-Arabiya, have focused on an ostensibly new trove of emails linked to Hillary Clinton. Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood henchman Morsi drops dead in court

The deposed Egyptian President, 67-year-old Mohammed Morsi from the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood collapsed in court and died during his espionage trial.

Egypt’s former president, Mohammed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood leader who rose to office in the country’s first free elections in 2012 and was ousted a year later by the military, collapsed in court during a trial and died, state TV and his family said.

The 67-year-old Morsi had just addressed the court, speaking from the glass cage he is kept in during sessions and warning that he had “many secrets” he could reveal, a judicial official said. Continue Reading »

Turkey warns US not to declare Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group

Turkey’s Spokesman for the AK Party of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warns the U.S. that if it declares the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization, it ‘would damage Middle East democracy.’

The White House said on Tuesday U.S. President Donald Trump was working to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization, a step that would bring sanctions against Egypt’s oldest Islamist movement.

Egypt destroyed, flooded with sea water or sewage, 37 tunnels from Gaza in 2018

The Egyptian army began destroying Hamas’ tunnels from Gaza following the September 2013 coup, that saw the ousting of Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi, who became President after being busted out of an Egyptian prison by hundreds of armed militants who entered Egypt via the Gaza tunnels.

The Egyptian military destroyed 37 cross-border tunnels linking the Gaza Strip to the Sinai Peninsula over the past year, the country’s military has announced.

Egypt has in the past flooded Hamas tunnels along the Gaza Strip with sea-water or sewage, and has destroyed hundreds of homes on the Egyptian side of Rafah to remove the tunnels. Continue Reading »

AL-ARABIYA article calls Linda Sarsour a Muslim Brotherhood extremist

Labeling the previous administration’s ‘Muslim poster girl,’ Linda Sarsour, as an “Islamist activist” for preaching the same terms used in Muslim Brotherhood teachings, the Saudi based article claimed she also used the same terms “used and preached also by [the] al-Qaeda terrorist organization.”

Trump to renew Military Aid to Egypt after Obama halted it with fall of Islamic Brotherhood

 

Although Egypt has long been one of Washington’s closest allies in the Middle East, Obama halted US military aid with Egypt after the coup d’état that unseated Muslim Brotherhood strongman Mohamed Morsi.

Masked assailants fire on Israeli tour bus near Cairo, – No injuries

 

Manhunt underway after masked individuals shot at a tourist bus outside a Cairo hotel that carried Israeli Arabs, according to Egyptian security forces.

Masked militants fired at a group of dozens of Israeli tourists at the Barceló Three Pyramids hotel next to Cairo on Thursday, causing damage but no injuries. One gunmen was arrested at the scene and security forces are searching for the other individuals involved in the attack, who numbered about 20 according to the Egyptian Interior Ministry.

Gunmen on motorbikes opened fire on a tourist bus outside the 4-star Barcelo Cairo Pyramids hotel in the Egyptian capital.

AP – Egypt’s state news agency says prosecutors have asked for the death sentence for ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and other Muslim Brotherhood leaders on trial on espionage charges.

Saudi Arabia blacklists Muslim Brotherhood & Hezbollah as terrorist groups

The kingdom also included Lebanon-based Shi’ite group Hezbollah on its terrorism list along with the Syria-based Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the Nusra Front, an Al Qaida branch operating in Syria and Lebanon that was created in 2012.

Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood Islamists Protest Against Israel-Palestinian Peace

Hundreds of Islamists rallied in Jordan on Friday against a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), The Associated Press (AP) reported.

The largest protest in months came hours before Jordan’s King Abdullah was scheduled to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama in California.

The 1,200 protesters affiliated with Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood, who demonstrated against Secretary of State John Kerry’s peace framework, also burned the Israeli flag, reported AP.

The protesters also demanded that King Abdullah II “revoke the peace treaty with the Zionists,” the report said, referring to the 1994 peace treaty signed between the two countries. Continue Reading »
