The KGB and the ORIGINS OF THE PALESTINIAN NARRATIVE

This succinct but articulated chronology of the Palestinian narrative clearly explains why the Palestinian leadership have always bolted from EVERY attempt to end the Israel-Arab conflict, and how, under the tutelage of the KGB, they adopted the invented narrative that the Palestinians are a ‘people’.

When thousands of released KGB documents became available with the collapse of the USSR, the Palestinian leadership panicked.
Now, anti-Zionist activists are trying to keep their real origin from the public, of how the ‘Palestinian People’ were invented by the KGB during the Cold War to disrupt American foreign policy and keep the Mid-East unstable for the expansion of Soviet influence.

The year was 1958, world opinion was turning against Arab freedom fighters, one of their leaders, Yasser Arafat knew something somehow was needed to bring opinion to this side, so he and his comrade in arms, Abbas, went to the KGB to see what they do to help him, thus started off the creation of the Palestinian myth and the historical claims we are all so familiar with now. Thus started the Palestinian Narrative.

In 1964 the first handpicked leaders of the Palestinian Liberation Organization gathered to create a charter, they at the time demanded that all land control by Israel at the time was theirs, in article 24 of that charter they did say they had no claim on Judea and Samaria, which Jordan by now had renamed the West Bank, nor did they have any historical claim on Gaza.

Article 24: This Organization does not exercise any territorial sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip or in the Himmah Area. Its activities will be on the national popular level in the liberational, organizational, political and financial fields.

Harkabi, Y. The Palestinian Covenant and Its Meaning. London: Vallentine, Mitchell, 1979.

What is interesting to note is not only were the Arabs interested in their charter of ridding the world and themselves of the nation of Israel, but they at no time stated they want to have self-rule or determination, for sure not in Gaza or the West Bank, their claims of the land were only where Israel existed, no place else.

This was confirmed by -Zuheir Mohsen (Arabic: زهير محسن)- top PLO member responsible for Damur massacre :

The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.

In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva, and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.

James Dorsey, “Wij zijn alleen Palestijn om politieke reden”, Trouw, 31 March 1977

The founding of the PLO, now known as Fatah had nothing to do with the desire for statehood, throughout the charter it states, again and again, its sole goal is the destruction of Israel, nothing more, thus started the Palestinian Narrative, they needed a story behind their need.

KGB Handlers for the PLO

But let’s get back to Arafat and the KGB and the Palestinian Narrative.

As is stated in the Gatestone Institute:

This comes from a document in the Mitrokhin archives at the Churchill Archives Center at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Vasily Mitrokhin was a former senior officer of the Soviet Foreign Intelligence service, who was later demoted to KGB archivist. At immense risk to his own life, he spent 12 years diligently copying secret KGB files that would not otherwise have become available to the public (the KGB foreign intelligence archives remain sealed from the public, despite the demise of the Soviet Union). When Mitrokhin defected from the Russia in 1992, he brought the copied files with him to the UK. The declassified parts of the Mitrokhin archives were brought to the public eye in the writings of Cambridge professor Christopher Andrew, who co-wrote The Mitrokhin Archive (published in two volumes) together with the Soviet defector. Mitrokhin’s archives led, among other things, to the discovery of many KGB spies in the West and elsewhere.

What is found in the files are four main points:

  • The PLO and the Palestinian Narrative was dreamt up by the KGB, which had a penchant for ‘liberation’ organizations.” — Ion Mihai Pacepa, former chief of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Romania.
  • “First, the KGB destroyed the official records of Arafat’s birth in Cairo, and replaced them with fictitious documents saying that he had been born in Jerusalem and was, therefore, a Palestinian by birth.” — Ion Mihai Pacepa.
  • “[T]he Islamic world was a waiting petri dish in which we could nurture a virulent strain of America-hatred, grown from the bacterium of Marxist-Leninist thought. Islamic anti-Semitism ran deep… We had only to keep repeating our themes — that the United States and Israel were ‘fascist, imperial-Zionist countries’ bankrolled by rich Jews.” — Yuri Andropov, former KGB chairman.
  • As early as 1965, the USSR had formally proposed in the UN a resolution that would condemn Zionism as colonialism and racism. Although the Soviets did not succeed in their first attempt, the UN turned out to be an overwhelmingly grateful recipient of Soviet bigotry and propaganda; in November 1975, Resolution 3379 condemning Zionism as “a form of racism and racial discrimination” was finally passed.

Sadly much of this narrative has stuck, like what we saw with freshman Congresswoman; tweeting this anti-Semitic strain seems to be growing at an alarming rate within the DNC.

What I do find interesting is the left right away jumped to this woman’s protection, some sites went as far as to say no white GOP member had a right to criticize her due to the color of her skin, her gender and that she was a Muslim, talk about racism.

The four Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI), Ilhan Omar (MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY)and Ayanna Pressley (MA) held a press conference on Monday 15 July 2019 to respond to President Donald Trump’s criticism of them. – Screenshot/ YouTube

To continue with the KGB.and the Palestinian Narrative:

In a 2004 interview, FrontPage Magazine, Pacepa said:

KGB logo (in English)

The PLO was dreamt up by the KGB, which had a penchant for “liberation” organizations. There was the National Liberation Army of Bolivia, created by the KGB in 1964 with help from Ernesto “Che” Guevara … the KGB also created the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which carried out numerous bombing attacks… In 1964 the first PLO Council, consisting of 422 Palestinian representatives handpicked by the KGB, approved the Palestinian National Charter — a document that had been drafted in Moscow. The Palestinian National Covenant and the Palestinian Constitution were also born in Moscow, with the help of Ahmed Shuqairy, a KGB influence agent who became the first PLO chairman…

In the Wall Street Journal, Pacepa explained how the KGB built up Arafat and the Palestinian Narrative:

He was an Egyptian bourgeois turned into a devoted Marxist by KGB foreign intelligence. The KGB had trained him at its Balashikha special-operations school east of Moscow and in the mid-1960s decided to groom him as the future PLO leader. First, the KGB destroyed the official records of Arafat’s birth in Cairo, and replaced them with fictitious documents saying that he had been born in Jerusalem and was therefore a Palestinian by birth.

Pacepa wrote:

For nearly four decades, the PLO has been the largest, wealthiest, and most politically connected terrorist organization in the world. For most of that time, it was held in the firm grip of Yasser Arafat’s iron fist. But Arafat was not the fierce, independent actor he posed as; he was completely dependent on the Soviet KGB and its surrogate Warsaw Pact intelligence services for arms, training, logistical support, funds, and direction.

William F. Jasper, “The Real Terror Paymasters,” The New American, September 3, 2007,

In his book, History Upside Down, David Meir Levi explains the creation of the Palestinian Narrative this way:

Arafat was particularly struck by Ho Chi Minh’s success in mobilizing left-wing sympathizers in Europe and the United States, where activists on American campuses, enthusiastically following the [propaganda] line of North Vietnamese operatives, had succeeded in reframing the Vietnam war from a Communist assault on the south to a struggle for national liberation. Ho’s chief strategist, General Giap, made it clear to Arafat and his lieutenants that in order to succeed, they too needed to redefine the terms of their struggle. Giap’s counsel was simple but profound: the PLO needed to work in a way that concealed its real goals, permitted strategic deception, and gave the appearance of moderation: ”Stop talking about annihilating Israel and instead turn your terror war into a struggle for human rights. Then you will have the American people eating out of your hand.

At the same time that he was getting advice from General Giap, Arafat was also being tutored by Muhammad Yazid, who had been minister of information in two Algerian wartime governments (1958-1962): wipe out the argument that Israel is a small state whose existence is threatened by the Arab states or the reduction of the Palestinian problem to a question of refugees; instead, present the Palestinian struggle as a struggle for liberation like the others. Wipe out the impression that in the struggle between the Palestinians and the Zionists, the Zionist is the underdog. Now it is the Arab who is oppressed and victimized in his existence because he is not only facing the Zionists but also world imperialism.

To make sure that they followed this advice, the KGB put Arafat and his adjutants into the hands of a master of propaganda: Nicolai Ceausescu, president-for-life of Romania.

For the next few years, Ceausescu hosted Arafat frequently and gave him lessons on how to apply the advice of Giap, Yazid, and others in the Soviet orbit. Arafat’s personal “handler,” Ion Mihai Pacepa, the head of the Romanian military intelligence, had to work hard on his sometimes unruly protege. Pacepa later recorded a number of sessions during which Arafat railed against Ceausescu’s injunctions that the PLO should present itself as a people’s revolutionary army striving to right wrongs and free the oppressed: he wanted only to obliterate Israel. Gradually, though, Ceausescu’s lessons in Machiavellian statecraft sank in. During his early Lebanon years, Arafat developed propaganda tactics that would allow him to create the image of a homeless people oppressed by a colonial power. This makeover would serve him well in the west for decades to come.

Arafat at UN

In the National Review Online article, Pacepa writes:

In the mid 1970s, the KGB ordered my [Rumanian intelligence] service, the DIE — along with other East European sister services — to scour the country for trusted party activists belonging to various Islamic ethnic groups, train them in disinformation and terrorist operations, and infiltrate them into the countries of our “sphere of influence.”

Their task was to export a rabid, demented hatred for American Zionism by manipulating the ancestral abhorrence for Jews felt by the people in that part of the world. Before I left Romania for good, in 1978, my DIE had dispatched around 500 such undercover agents to Islamic countries. According to a rough estimate received from Moscow, by 1978 the whole Soviet-bloc intelligence community had sent some 4,000 such agents of influence into the Islamic world. In the mid-1970s we also started showering the Islamic world with an Arabic translation of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a tsarist Russian forgery that had been used by Hitler as the foundation for his anti-Semitic philosophy. We also disseminated a KGB-fabricated “documentary” paper in Arabic alleging that Israel and its main supporter, the United States, were Zionist countries dedicated to converting the Islamic world into a Jewish colony.

We in the Soviet bloc tried to conquer minds, because we knew we could not win any military battles. It is hard to say what exactly are the lasting effects of operation SIG. But the cumulative effect of disseminating hundreds of thousands of Protocols in the Islamic world and portraying Israel and the United States as Islam’s deadly enemies was surely not constructive.

T Pacepa, “Russian Footprints” National Review Online, August 24, 2006
http://article.nationalreview.com/289014/russian-footprints/ion-mihai-pacepa

He went on to say:

In 1972, the Kremlin decided to turn the whole Islamic world against Israel and the U.S. As KGB chairman Yury Andropov told me [Pacepa], a billion adversaries could inflict far greater damage on America than could a few million. We needed to instill a Nazi-style hatred for the Jews throughout the Islamic world and to turn this weapon of the emotions into a terrorist bloodbath against Israel and its main supporter, the United States. No one within the American/Zionist sphere of influence should any longer feel safe.”According to Andropov, the Islamic world was a waiting petri dish in which we could nurture a virulent strain of America-hatred, grown from the bacterium of Marxist-Leninist thought. Islamic anti-Semitism ran deep. The Muslims had a taste for nationalism, jingoism, and victimology. Their illiterate, oppressed mobs could be whipped up to a fever pitch.

While it is important to see what the creation of the Palestinian Narrative along with the Arabs now known as Palestinians is, it is equally important to know why. I went into detail in DID ISRAEL STEAL THE ANCESTRAL HOME OF THE PALESTINIANS? PART 1 (due to the number of references I had to split this up into three parts. I also went into this with Palestinians: WHAT IS FACT, WHAT IS FICTION.

If this was from one source, I would have an issue with this, but this is not the only sources that state the whole Palestinian narrative is based on fiction, you have the Arabs themselves that openly admit to this Palestinian Narrative:

Professor Azmi Bishara

There is no “Palestinian nation,” The word “Palestine” itself is a colonial invention used by the Romans to erase the Jewish identity of Judea and Israel!

Professor Azmi Bishara (Arabic: عزمي بشارة)– a “Palestinian Arab”

Walid Shoebatt

Walid Shoebatt, who was a former PLO terrorist, acknowledged the lie he had been fighting for when he asked,

Why is it that on June 4th, 1967, I went to bed as a Jordanian and woke up as a Palestinian? We considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then, all of a sudden, we were Palestinians.

Professor Philip Khuri Hitti

This fact was admitted by Professor Philip Hitti, an Arab historian who declared:

There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not.” This fact is further confirmed by the Saudi Arabia Representative at the United Nations. “It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but Southern Syria.

Fathi Hammad

Fathi Hammad, minister of the interior and national security for Hamas, a recognized terror group, confirmed that,

…half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis.

Here is the video of him openly admitting this on Egyptian TV:

Hafez Assad

Syrian dictator Hafez Assad (father of the present dictator) told PLO leader Yasser Arafat,

You do not represent Palestine as much as we do. Never forget this one point: There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian entity, there is only Syria.

So one has to ask, why the deception, what is the goal of the Palestinian Narrative? In this the Arabs are equally honest in their own words:

Zuhair Muhsin, military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO Executive Council, clearly said,

Zuhair Muhsin

There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity… yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel.

Yasser Arafat

Since we cannot defeat Israel in war, we do this in stages. We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine and establish a sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more. When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.

Yasser Arafat 1993

This is the reason for the creation of the whole myth, the reason this was done had nothing to do with historical right, but at this point, these Arabs have lied about this so long they actually are starting to believe their own lie. The reason was the refusal of Middle East Muslims to allow a Jewish nation in their midst, to stop this they will go to any means, even creating a history and lying about historical claims.

A lie is a lie, does not matter if you repeat it until you believe it, it is still a lie. Although writing this will cause problems, may lose some of my news feeds I am channelled into, I would rather do what is right then what is expedient, if one can’t tell the truth, then what is the sense of speaking?
