Azerbaijan likely to help Israel with Iran attack

Reuters quotes local Azerbaijan sources say Azeri authorities explored with Israel how their air bases and spy drones could aid Israel in Iran strike.

By Reuters

Israel’s “go-it-alone” option to attack Iran’s nuclear sites has set the Middle East on edge and unsettled its main ally at the height of a U.S. presidential election campaign.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu exudes impatience, saying Tehran is barely a year from a “red line” for atomic capacity. Many fellow Israelis, however, fear a unilateral strike, lacking U.S. forces, would fail against such a large and distant enemy.

Op-Ed: Jihad, Iran & “End Times”

Prologue to Nuclear War in the Middle East?

An Iranian nuclear 1st-strike could be selected in deference to certain religious obligations. Acting as the ‘individual’ suicide bomber, Iran could potentially offer itself eagerly in the spirit of Shahada, ready & willing to accept a collective Death for Allah.

Louis René Beres

Part 1

It is an immobilizing question, a query that was once only whispered: Could certain Iranian leaders, including President Ahmadinejad, be seeking nuclear weapons in order to deliberately bring about an apocalyptic “end of days?” Might these leaders be planning a religiously-mandated and possibly nuclear Final Battle in order to bring back the “Hidden Imam”?
