The presumptive Republican presidential candidate stated in his visit to Israel Sunday and Monday that Jerusalem is the country’s capital, a designation the international community does not accept because of the Arab world’s opposition.

Is this a taste of things to come?

Obama is at a disadvantage when it comes to Israel. His famous Cairo address in 2009; calling on Israel to halt construction in east Jerusalem, and of course, the symbolic fact that he did not include Israel on his itinerary every time he visited the region.

By Danny Danon

The U.S. presidential elections are around the corner. We have now entered the final leg – the last 100 days – of the campaign and the candidates are working overtime to win over voters, including U.S. Jews. President Barack Obama, who time and again has turned a cold shoulder toward Israel and adopted a pro-Palestinian posture, is running against the Republicans’ Mitt Romney, who has repeatedly communicated his pro-Israel world view, including on Sunday night, when he vowed to back Israel’s policy on Iran and on other issues.

By JUDY SIEGEL-ITZKOVICH

After eight years of intensive work, a team of Ben-Gurion University scientists has overcome the “blood brain barrier” that prevents drugs from passing into the brain and reaching specific targets to fight disease. The system of synthetic nanoscale structures, called V-Smart drug delivery technology, also allows oral medications to pass through the epithelial tissue of the intestinal wall and other biological membranes; thus, the Beersheba researchers hope that injectable-only drugs for a variety of diseases could eventually be made in pill form.

“I’m on foreign soil, and because it’s long been a policy of both political parties to leave politics at the water’s edge, I’m not going to go through specific foreign policy prescription,” he said. Continue Reading »

At a recent press conference when insistent journalists asked James Carney, Obama’s press secretary, what the White House considered Israel’s capital, Carney, adamantly evasive, refused six times to say Jerusalem.

By Aliza Davidovit

There is the old joke that if you have two Jews in a room you will have three opinions. But thanks to President Barack Obama, he has been able to accomplish what even Moses couldn’t do, create a consensus among Jews, well at least Israeli Jews. They have by a strong majority united on one thing: They don’t like President Obama. A recent poll commissioned by the Begin Sadat Center at Bar Ilan University and the Anti-Defamation League revealed that only 32% of Israelis have a positive view of Obama as compared to 2009, when his likeability among them was at 54%.
