Top FATAH official denied entry into Egypt, deported to Jordan

Jibril al Rajoub, an official in autocrat Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority, was not allowed entry into Egypt and detained at Cairo Int’l Airport until deported on first flight to Jordan.

CAIRO – Egyptian airport security denied entry to a senior Palestinian official on Monday and deported him, sources at Cairo airport said.

3rd Palestinian garbage-truck confiscated for illegal dumping of solid-waste/garbage

 

Judea and Samaria Civil Administration officials confiscated the third PA garbage truck after being caught dumping trash at improper, illegal site.

The Supervisory Unit of the IDF Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria confiscated a Palestinian Authority truck Monday after the truck was caught dumping garbage at an illegal waste disposal site between Alfei Menashe and Karnei Shomron. In the last two weeks two other PA trucks were impounded for similar offenses.

Egyptian army continues to destroy Hamas terror-tunnels on its Gaza border

 

Egypt continues to deal with chaos in the Sinai, destroying Hamas smuggler tunnels connecting to Gaza and now the Coptic Church says Christians are fleeing northern Sinai for their safety.

The Egyptian military says it has discovered and destroyed weapons smuggling tunnels in the northern Sinai Peninsula, next to the Gaza border.

A military spokesperson told Egyptian media outlets that one tunnel, dug some 20 meters (66 feet) underground, branched out into three different tunnels.

Oxygen tanks and communication technology cables were found in the tunnels.

Facebook terminates FATAH movement page, blocks all 12 admins to 30 days each

 

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement had its Facebook page shut down, blocks the page’s 12 administrators for promoting violence, a violation of its community standards.

Facebook has shut down the page of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas’s party Fatah, apparently over a picture of late leader Yasser Arafat with a weapon, the movement said on Monday.

“We received a message that our page violated Facebook’s regulations,” Munir al-Jaghub, a media officer with Fatah and one of the page’s administrators, told AFP.

IDF artillery hits Hamas targets in Gaza after rocket fired at Israel early Monday morning

 

The rocket which caused no damage or injuries, was the 7th fired at Israel in the 30 days, did not activate the Iron Dome or the ‘Code Red’ siren having been tracked to land in an open field in Sha’ar HaNegev area.

The IDF attacked targets the Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon in response to a rocket fired from the strip that exploded in open area in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council in the early morning hours.

Israeli diplomatic official reports Australia to work to keep ICC off of Israel

 

A senior diplomatic official said Sunday that Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop will defend Israel in hostile international forums against biased and unwarranted politicly motivated charges, designed to castigate Israel.

SYDNEY – Australia is willing to be an “important player” in keeping pressure on the International Criminal Court so it is not used as a vehicle to attack Israel, a senior diplomatic official said Sunday, shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

Israel Hospitals threaten to end Syrian refugee treatment over lack of gov’t funding

 

Although the gov’t has partially paid, Israel’s Health Minister has ordered hospitals to stop treating Syrian refugees [if not life-threatening] starting next week, if Jerusalem doesn’t allocate funds to allay the financial burden.

Hospitals are warning that they will cease to admit wounded Syrian refugees for treatment starting next week, if the government does not help to provide assistance to allay the financial costs involved.

Western Wall security call police after discovering what’s inside cane of 60 yr-old tourist

 

Police are summoned after 60-year-old tourist arrived at the Western Wall entrance with an innocent-looking cane that security personnel found extremely perplexing.

Israeli police operating in the Western Wall plaza were called on Friday to the security post at the entrance to the Wall after a suspicious object was found in the possession of a 60-year-old tourist.

Examining police officers found the tourist’s walking stick to contain a sword.

Police interrogated the tourist and heard from her that since she has trouble walking in the alleys of the Old City, she acquired in one of the shops a walking stick to get around with, which she used until arriving at the security post at the Western Wall’s entrance. Continue Reading »

UN Human Rights Council lambastes Azariya’s manslaughter sentence

 

A UN Human Rights Council representative, in a short written statement, criticized the Tel Aviv Military Court and its 18-month prison sentence handed down to Elor Azariya, for shooting dead a wounded terrorist, as ‘excessively lenient.’

A representative of the UN Human Rights Council heavily criticized the sentencing of soldier Elor Azariya this week.

Azariya, who was convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded terrorist, was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Major #BDSfail: British universities cancel ‘Apartheid Week’

 

In a blow to the BDS movement, 2 UK universities cancel the events of the anti-Israel ‘Apartheid Week’ based on Britain’s recently adopted definition of anti-Semitism, that includes incitement against Jews by demonizing Israel.

The University of Central Lancashire and University College London in Britain were forced to cancel the Israel Apartheid Week events, which were supposed to take place next week, following the intervention of Friends of Israel associations in the UK.

The cancellation of these events is part of the struggle against the Israel boycott movement on campuses.

PA charges Israel with ‘terrorism’ for closing Hamas affiliated school in Jerusalem

 

The PA’s public diplomacy bureau said school closure was demonstrative of Israel’s “terrorist activities”, calling Israel’s claims of incitement in the school’s curriculum as “lies”.

The Al Nkhba School in the Sur Baher neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem was ordered to be closed after it was discovered that the school had been established by officials affiliated  with the Hamas terrorist organization, and that the curriculum included severe incitement against the State of Israel. CNN outs Trump pick for Israel envoy for accusing US liberal Jews as ‘not a pro-Israel force’

CNN reported on Thursday that inflammatory rhetoric said by President Trump’s nominee for US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, had been focused mainly against J-Street and liberal American Jews, saying they ‘don’t support Israel, don’t support traditional Jewish values.’

India accepts $2.5 billion missile defense deal with Israel

 

The Indian gov’t has accepted a $2.5 billion missile deal, capable of shooting down enemy aircraft at a range of 50-70 kilometers, to replace their country’s aging air defenses.

The Indian government has cleared a $2.5 billion deal for its army to buy a medium-range surface-to-air missile defense system from Israel Aerospace Industries, another step toward signing the contract, Indian media reported on Thursday.

IDF report: Israeli jet downs Hamas drone over Mediterranean

 

The drone, operated by Hamas militants, was identified immediately after takeoff from Gaza and was under constant IAF surveillance.
– The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported, “The IDF will not allow any airspace violation and will act resolutely against any such attempt.”

The Israeli Defense Forces on Thursday intercepted a Hamas operated drone launched from the Gaza Strip.

According to a statement from the army, the drone was shot down over the Mediterranean sea by an Israeli air force jet and crashed into the water, preventing infiltration into Israeli airspace.
