Jon Stewart: Criticizing Israel doesn’t constitute being anti-Israel

JTA – Jon Stewart’s directorial film debut, “Rosewater,” is set to premiere at film festivals in the United States and Canada this September. So the Hollywood Reporter took the opportunity to grab some golden quotes (and glam shots) of the iconic “Daily Show” comedian about filming in the Middle East — and his own take on the region’s politics.

Opportunity presents itself for Israel to improve its ties with the European Union

Israel gets ‘friend’ in Tusk, Polish Prime Minister now new president of the European Council.

 

Israeli officials warmly welcomed Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s appointment as president of the European Council on Sunday, but were more reserved at news that Italy’s Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini would replace Catherine Ashton as the EU’s foreign policy chief.

The more reserved reception toward Mogherini was because of lack of familiarity with the 41-year-old diplomat, who startled many when she was tapped – seemingly out of nowhere – as Italy’s foreign minister only six months ago. Continue Reading »
