The Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Thursday announced nominations for the American accolade recognizing excellence in film and television.

The Israeli divorce drama “Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem” contending in the best foreign language film category.

Gett, synonymous with the writ of divorce under Jewish law, is an indictment of Israel’s misogynistic divorce laws, shown through one woman’s struggle to divorce a husband she no longer loves, who refuses to grant her a divorce.
