A spokesperson from the church confirmed to The Jerusalem Post that the famous couple would be baptizing their daughter within the 12th-century Armenian church. The ceremony is expected to last 30 minutes. The Israeli organizer of the celebrity visit also confirmed the baptism.

Although not an overtly-religious clan, Kardashian has often expressed close ties to her Armenian family heritage. Kim, Kanye and baby North embarked on their Middle East tour earlier this week, beginning with a trip to Armenia to honor the 100 year anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

The family landed in Israel early Monday. They are expected to leave Israel Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. to head to Jordan. While the couple had previously reported that they planned to visit various Israeli holy sites during their trip, it has become evident that the baptism is the true reason for the short visit.

The Cathedral of Saint James is located near the Armenian Quarter’s entry gate and is dedicated to James the Greater (one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus) and James the Just (brother of Jesus). It is the principal church of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
