Prime Minister calls emergency cabinet meeting ahead of PA-Hamas announcement


Cabinet confirms decision to halt negotiations and agrees to reduce monetary transfers to Abbas’ PA gov’t.

Abbas promises new gov’t will renounce violence against Israel, but no similar confirmation has been sounded by Hamas.




Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called an emergency cabinet meeting Sunday night ahead of the Palestinian Authority-Hamas formal unity government declaration. The announcement is expected to come on Monday at 1 p.m.

During the cabinet meeting, the ministers agreed to completely halt negotiations with the Palestinian Authority as long as it remains united with terror organization Hamas and to lower the amount of  money transferred to the PA.

Palestinians: Israel Threatens to Sever Ties With Hamas-Fatah Unity Gov’t


According to PA official at President Mahmoud Abbas’ office, only security related matters will continue when Hamas sworn in with Fatah government.



Israel has informed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas directly that all contact with the Palestinian Authority will be severed the moment the new Palestinian unity government is sworn in, a senior figure in the Palestinian president’s office has told Haaretz.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction espouses the same ideology of destroying Israel as Hamas, with which it signed a unity deal last Wednesday, according to newly revealed video segments of a senior Fatah official.

Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi last week posted a video to YouTube of his comments from a pro-terrorist ceremony in Gaza. In his speech mere days before the unity deal, Tirawi said Gaza “will return to the bosom of legitimacy.”

Tirawi added “the homeland…is…all of Palestine, from its [Jordan] River to its [Mediterranean] Sea,” describing a map that effectively wipes out the Jewish state. Continue Reading »

Video: Netanyahu explains Fatah-Hamas Deal is a ‘Blow to Peace’

Speaking to foreign media, Netanyahu vows that Israel would only resume peace talks with the PA “when they decide to abandon the course of terror.”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed on Thursday that he will not negotiate with the Palestinian Authority (PA) so long as it is part of a unity government with the Hamas terrorist group.

Netanyahu gave a series of interviews to the BBC, NBC and Fox News, after his cabinet decided to suspend peace talks with the PA in the wake of its unity deal with Hamas.

“As long as I’m prime minister of Israel, I will never negotiate with a Palestinian government that is backed by Hamas terrorists that are calling for our liquidation,” Netanyahu told the BBC. Continue Reading »
