Hizbullah missiles in the Second Lebanon War in 2006 knocked telecasts in northern Israel off the air.

The Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) showed off its new underground studio to the media on Monday, RTT News reported. It was built seven meters – 23 feet – underground and its concrete walls are 12 inches thick. The control room includes a radio booth. Continue Reading »

IDF chief: Other countries are prepared for possible Iran strike

Following recent comments that appeared to put Lt. Gen. Gantz at odds with other senior Israeli officials, the IDF Chief of Staff strongly hints that other nations could be backing military action.

 

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz said on Thursday that other countries have readied their armed forces for a potential strike against Iran’s nuclear sites to keep Tehran from acquiring atomic weapons.

Analysis: US ‘leaks’ on Iran meant to prevent strike

The thrust of US news stories seems more about stopping Israel from striking Iran, than about Iran’s nuclear program.

 

Yossi Klein Halevi, in an article on The New Republic’s website earlier this month entitled “Why Israel Still Can’t Trust That Obama Has its Back,” argued that Washington seems more concerned about warning Israel, than stopping Iran.

“Even when he seemed to be warning Tehran, he was really warning Jerusalem,” Halevi said about US President Barack Obama’s AIPAC speech. “His goal these last days hasn’t been so much to deter them but us.”
