The MKs will join together with World Jewish Congress and International Christian Embassy Jerusalem representatives to meet with Christian and political leaders in the two Baltic states to mobilize support for Israel.

There will be meetings with senior leaders from a spectrum of Christian denominations, with hopes of garnering further support for Israel, concentrating on shared Judeo-Christian values.

There will also be large events held in honor of the launching of the caucuses in the capital cities of the two countries, Riga, Latvia, and Talinn, Estonia, with hundreds of people. The events will feature inspiring words from Jewish and Christian leaders urging a closer bond between Israel and their people.

Keynote speakers at the events will include Knesset Christian Allies Caucus co-chairs David Rotem (Likud Beytenu) and MK Gila Gamliel (Likud Beytenu), caucus director Josh Reinstein, International Christian Embassy Jerusalem media director David Parsons and World Jewish Congress Israel chairman Shai Hermesh, who is a former MK.

“Although Israel is always at a disadvantage in international forums like the United Nations because of pressure from Arab states, our ability to garner support for Israel in individual countries through the establishment of 30 parliamentary Israel allies caucuses is unprecedented,” Reinstein said.

The Knesset Christian Allies Caucus was established in 2004 by MK Yuri Shtern. Its 17 MKs from across the political spectrum aim to open formal and direct lines of communication between MKs and Christian leaders, organizations and political representatives around the world.

Hermesh said establishing Israel allies caucuses in Latvia and Estonia would help defend the Jewish state from unfair attacks in those countries.

ICEJ executive director Jurgen Buhler said he was excited about partnering with the WJC and the caucus to establish closer ties between Israel and the parliaments of Estonian and Latvia.

“As a Bible-believing Christian I consider it a privileged to stand with the only democratic, Jewish state in the Middle East,” Buhler said.
