A rocket that was fired by Gaza terrorists on Sunday evening, shortly after 11:00 p.m., exploded in an open area of the Eshkol Regional Council in southern Israel.

There were no physical injuries or damages. An IDF official noted that the “Red Alert” incoming rocket siren was not sounded due to the fact that the rocket hit an open region.

Earlier on Sunday evening, a rocket was fired from Gaza with the intention of striking within Israel, but fell short and landing inside of the Gaza Strip.

The rocket did not come close enough to set off sirens in nearby communities.

On Saturday night, the Iron Dome system intercepted a rocket over the Hof Ashkelon region. There were no reports of physical injuries or damages.

Three additional rockets missed their target and exploded on the Gazan side of the border.

The Israeli Air Force retaliated several hours later, launching airstrikesagainst two weapons manufacturing sites belonging to Hamas in northern Gaza.
