Palestinian sources said that the man was seriously hurt. A spokesman for the Hamas-run health ministry said that a 22-year-old man was hit by Israeli tank fire on the border in  the central Gaza Strip, and seriously wounded, according to an AFP report. The IDF did not comment.

There has been recent escalation on the Israel-Gaza border. Earlier this week, an Israel Air Force craft struck a Palestinian rocket launching pad and two militant activity sites in the Gaza Strip after Gaza militants fired some 15 rockets and mortars into southern Israel overnight.
