Israeli Ambassador to the UN Ron Prossor: We are proud to raise awareness “about disabilities in general and autism in particular”
Alut — the Israeli Society for Autistic Children — and the Israeli delegation to the United Nations hosted on Tuesday an exhibit of artwork by autistic Israeli children.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Ron Prossor and El Al captain Dubi Ofer — the father of autistic twins — also participated.
“We are proud that year after year, we are promoting worldwide awareness about disabilities in general and autism in particular,” Prossor said.
Alut Director-General Einat Cassuto-Shefi added, “There is great importance to the issue being placed before the U.N.”
The U.N. recently awarded Alut status as an advisory organization.
