Hezbollah’s television station Al-Manar reported Wednesday on sounds of artillery fire in the Mount Dov area on the Israel-Lebanon border. Another Lebanese report said that Israeli Air Force drones were flying over southern Lebanon.

These reports have not been confirmed by Israel.

Similar reports of IAF plane activity over southern Lebanon also surfaced on Tuesday night.

On Monday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah confirmed al-Safir that his organization was the one that planted an explosive device in Mount Dov last month, saying that “the Israelis understood the message well.”

“It was a Hezbollah action,” the Hezbollah leader said. “It was part of the response to an Israeli attack on one of the resistance posts in the Janta area, on the Syria-Lebanon border.”

“The last Israeli attack in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley was part of their attempt to take advantage of the current situation and Hezbollah’s involvement in the fighting in Syria. It is designed to change the rules of the game,” he added.

The tensions in the North, that include the continuous civil war in Syria, has created many power struggles on the Syrian-Lebanese border. Reports in media identified with the Syrian regime and Hezbollah said Bashar Assad’s army continued making headway against the rebels in the areas surrounded Damascus.
