In obvious attempt at ‘pay-back’ for yesterdays air attack destroying Syrian missile caches earmarked for Hezbollah, 4 terrorists were killed near Druze border town of Majdal Shams by IAF airstrike.
The Israeli military thwarted an attack on the Israeli-Syrian border on Sunday night, killing four terrorists in the process.
According to the IDF, a group of armed terrorists approached the border with an explosive device near the border town of Majdal Shams, which was intended to be detonated against IDF troops. In response, an IAF aircraft targeted the group and prevented the attack.
The IDF said in an official statement that it will not “tolerate any attempt to harm or violate Israeli sovereignty.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the events in the north.
“Any attempt to harm our soldiers will be met with a stern response, like the one led by the IDF tonight who stopped an attempted terror attack. I praise the IDF alertness which responded quickly and accurately,” Netanyahu said.
Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Sunday evening that Israel will not allow Hezbollah to attain arms, his comments came a day after Arab media reported Israel hit a shipment of long-range ground-to-ground missiles, likely of the Scud variety, in Syria which was intended for the terror group.
According to sources the airstrike targeted the 155th and 65th divisions of the Syrian army which have “ties to strategic weapons and long-range missiles.”
The sources quoted by Al-Jazeera said that several explosions were also reported in the Syrian towns of Al-Qutayfah, Yabroud and Qarah near Damascus.
Since the beginning of the bloody civil war in 2011, Israel is reported to have attacked Syrian military bases on a number of occasions, including raids reportedly targeting Iranian rockets bound for Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
On January 18, six Hezbollah fighters, the son of the group’s late military leader Imad Moughniyeh and an Iranian general were killed in an Israeli air strike in Quneitra.
The Israeli government has declined to confirm any of the reports.
