The Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority government has named a summer program for the bloodthirsty terrorist who killed 37 civilians in 1978, Dalal Mughrabi.

The “Sisters of Dalal Mughrabi” summer “youth camp” was named to commemorate the most lethal attack in the history of Israel, known as the “coastal road massacre.” The killers led by Mughrabi hijacked a bus on the highway that runs along the Mediterranean coastline.

Of the 37 people they killed that day, 12 were children.

In a speech to participants at the summer camp, Majed Al-Fatiani, PA governor of the Jericho district, told participants that Mughrabi and others who “sacrificed” their lives in the murderous attack “should be a beacon for us in our activities.”

Fatiani’s remarks, published Monday in the official PA newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, were translated by the media watchdog organization Palestinian Media Watch.

“It is our national obligation to be faithful to those before us who gave and sacrificed for Palestine, and they should be a beacon for us in our activities and in guarding the achievements and capabilities of our people,” he allegedly said.

The director of the summer camp, Lana Nazzal, reportedly commented that the summer camp was organized by the Fatah movement with the cooperation of the Women’s Association of Kalkilya and the Farmers’ Association, and that “the camp is intended for ‘youth’ between the ages of 16 to 30,” PMW reported.

The PA has glorified Mughrabi repeatedly by naming events and public places in her memory. Summer camps and tournaments have been dedicated in her name, as have teams and groups in camps.

One such summer camp with a Dalal Mughrabi group was sponsored last year by “moderate” and favorite of Western nations, PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Music videos honoring Mughrabi and the terror attack that she led have been broadcast repeatedly on official PA TV, with government leaders and institutions often presenting her as a role model for PA citizens, particularly for the PA Arab youth.

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has likewise glorified the terrorist, providing funding for a computer center in her name in 2009. One year later, he sponsored a “birthday party” on what would have been Mughrabi’s 50th birthday. That same year, the PA announced its intention to name a public square in Ramallah after Mughrabi, and despite fierce international criticism that followed publicity about the issue, the Fatah-led PA went ahead and named the square for the terrorist anyway.

“Every one of us has tried in his own way to express his pride in this Shahida (martyr),” explained Abbas adviser Sabri Saidam.

The following is the excerpt of the article in the PA daily announcing the “Sisters of Dalal” summer camp:
