A Scottish pastor with a history of comparing Israel to Apartheid South Africa has been tapped to take over the spiritual leadership of the capital’s St. Andrews Church, the Jerusalem Post has learned.

Anti-Semitic NGOs, which receive funding from official authorities such as the United States and the European Union, use classic Christian blood libels in their claims against Israel, said Professor Gerald Steinberg, head of NGO Monitor.

Steinberg spoke to Arutz Sheva at the 4th conference of the Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism which was held in Jerusalem.

Steinberg named MIFTAH, a Palestinian Authority-based NGO, as an example of a group which uses the old Christian blood libel that accuses Jews of using the blood of Christians to bake matzah on Passover, as part of its anti-Israel propaganda. Continue Reading »

Church of Scotland back-peddles on denial of Jewish right to Israel

‘Guardian’ reports: After uproar, the Church of Scotland agrees to reword paper rejecting Jewish claims to Israel.

After meeting with senior Jewish leaders in Britain on Thursday, the Church of Scotland has agreed to change the wording of a controversial paper which denies Jews any special claim to the land of Israel, the Guardian reported.

The paper, entitled “The Inheritance of Abraham,” rejects “claims that scripture offers any peoples a privileged claim for possession of a particular territory.” The paper further states that “reconciliation can only be possible if the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem and the blockade of Gaza are ended.”
