Historic victory for non-Orthodox praying Jews at Western Wall

The Women of the Wall organization, the Reform and Conservative movements in Israel and North America as well as political leaders in Israel and the Diaspora hailed the agreement approved on Sunday to formally designate a prayer area for non-Orthodox prayer at the Western Wall.

Lapid: I’ll Advocate Civil Marriages & Reform Judaism

Yesh Atid’s chief, Yair Lapid says his platform includes dialog with Abbas, civil marriage & bringing reform Judaism to Israel.

Yair Lapid, head of the Yesh Atid party, spoke Tuesday at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, held at the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem. Lapid declared that his political agenda includes making the Reform and Conservative movements – both popular in the United States – equal to orthodox Judaism in terms of state support.
