Lebanon plans to increase its military presence along its southern border with Israel, Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on Thursday at a meeting in Rome, where he is seeking financial support for the armed forces.

Bolstering Lebanon’s army and internal security forces is seen as a way for the international community to keep Hezbollah, which has helped sway the Syrian civil war in President Bashar Assad’s favor, from broadening its clout in the Lebanese heartland. Continue Reading »

Exiled Hariri willing to return to Lebanon & share power with Hezbollah

 

Currently in exile in Saudi Arabia, former Lebanese PM Saad Hariri who’s currently in The Hague, says he is optimistic of a  coalition deal that would unite Sunni & Shi’ite Muslim groups.

THE HAGUE- Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri says he is now ready to share power with his rivals Hezbollah if that’s what it takes to help Lebanon finally form a government after nine months of political deadlock.
