A week after returning from his trip to Israel, Poland and London, the Mitt Romney presidential campaign released a new advertisement, entitled “Cherished Relationship,” which criticizes the Obama administration’s treatment of Israel and draws clear distinctions between the incumbent’s record on Israel and Romney’s record on Israel.

“Who shares your values?” the ad begins, with a voice-over adding, “As president, Barack Obama has never visited Israel and refuses to recognize Jerusalem as its capital.

“Mitt Romney will be a different kind of president — a strong leader who stands by our allies,” the ad declares. “He knows America holds a deep and cherished relationship with Israel.”

The ad shows Romney giving his speech in Jerusalem last week in which he said, “We speak the same language of freedom and justice and the right of every person to live in peace.”

The ad concludes with the narrator saying that like the U.S., Israel “respects the rights of people of all religions” and that unlike the Obama administration, which continually refuses to name the capital of the Jewish state, Romney understands that Jerusalem is “the capital of Israel.”
