Egyptian president General Abdel Fatah el-Sisi has offered Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas to cede 1600 square kilometers of the Sinai Peninsula adjoining Gaza to the PA, thus creating a Palestinian state five times the present size of Gaza. In return, the PA would stop demanding that Israel return to the 1967 borders.

The offer was revealed on IDF Radio.

el-Sisi reportedly suggested that Palestinian “refugees” be allowed to settle in the new, much enlarged Gaza, which would be demilitarized.

The Palestinian cities in Judea and Samaria would enjoy autonomy and be fully run by the PA, according to the plan, which would leave the PA with even more territory than it would have if Israel ceded all of Judea and Samaria.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was aware of the offer and the United States gave a green light, according to the military radio station’s sources.

A similar idea was floated years ago by Israeli academicians and by Major General (ret.) Giora Eiland, but was rejected by Egypt at the time.

  1. David Hersch says:

It is almost a cliché, but it as true today as the day Abba Eban first said it. Here is Abbas, not a genius, but a graduate cum laude of the Yasser Arafat School of failed leadership and being a bloody fool losing another opportunity to lose an opportunity that is magnanimous and infinitely wise from the Egyptians. This endless “strategy” has lead the Arabs that invented themselves in 1967 into Palestinians nowhere and will continue to lead them nowhere. Abbas, monumental fool that he is, is what the Beatles once sang about:

    He’s a real nowhere man
    Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody

Doesn’t have a point of view
Knows not where he’s going to

    Nowhere Man, please listen
You don’t know what you’re missing
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command

He’s as blind as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?

    Nowhere Man, don’t worry
    Take your time, don’t hurry
Leave it all till somebody else lends you a hand

They should build their country in Sinai and leave Judea and Samaria out of those borders.

I do not think the palestinian leaders really want to give peace and progress to their people.

They rather keep them ignorant and playing a victims role.

  3. It was refused so quickly, mainstream media missed it!

They want the conflict MORE than they want a ‘homeland’…
After all, are they really a people?
