An image posted on Friday evening to the Facebook page of the Al-Rasalah publication featured the faces of the three Islamist terrorists eliminated by French security forces Friday, with a caption reading: “The shahidim [martyrs] who were dispatched by God, the heroes of the raid in Paris.”

Brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi, Muslims of Algerian descent, murdered 12 people and wounded 11 others on Wednesday in an attack on the offices of the Charlie Hebdo magazine in central Paris. They claimed to be acting on behalf of the Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), which released a statement celebrating their attack and warning of more to come.

They were killed after a standoff at a warehouse in Dammartin-en-Goele, 22 miles north of Paris, after they burst out of the building firing at police.

Amedy Coulibaly, who claimed to be a member of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group, was shot dead after taking shoppers hostage at the Hyper Casher kosher store in the French capital. Coulibaly murdered four shoppers before armed police killed him in a surprise raid.

On Saturday, Hamas’s official leadership released a statement condemning the Charlie Hebdo attack – but notably did not similarly condemn the murder of French Jews on Friday.
