PARIS – Diplomats, French officials, actors, artists and leaders of the Jewish community gathered at the Carousel du Louvre for the launching of an unusual exhibit, titled “Open a Door to Israel.”

Man Arrested Before Burning Israeli Flag Outside Paris Kosher Supermarket

Paris police arrest man who tried to burn Israeli flag at the entrance to the Hyper Cacher kosher market, place where 4 Jews were murdered last month by Muslim terrorist.

Police in Paris on Monday arrested a 38-year-old man who tried to set fire to an Israeli flag that was placed at the entrance to the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket, where Islamist terrorist Amedy Coulibali murdered four Jews (pictured below) last month .

According to local police, the man was stopped and detained before he could carry out his plan to burn the flag.

Israel’s PM Spoke with Freed French Hostage About Slain Jewish Man’s Heroism

Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Celine (Charki) told me about the terrorist’s unfathomable cruelty & the heroism of a Jewish youth who tried to take his gun & shoot him.”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Saturday evening that he spoke by phone with Celine Charki, who was one of the hostages held at the kosher supermarket in Paris Friday. “Celine told me about the terrorist’s unfathomable cruelty and the heroism of a Jewish youth who tried to take his gun and shoot him,” he said.

The heroic action was apparently taken by hostage Johan Cohen, who was killed.

A Hamas-linked publication has praised the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, and hailed those responsible as “martyrs”.

An image posted on Friday evening to the Facebook page of the Al-Rasalah publication featured the faces of the three Islamist terrorists eliminated by French security forces Friday, with a caption reading: “The shahidim [martyrs] who were dispatched by God, the heroes of the raid in Paris.”

Fighting terrorism means physically battling it, as well as rejecting its false claims and not accepting any justification for it, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday in response to the terrorist attack in Paris.

According to The Associated Press (AP), several thousand people crowded the streets outside the Israeli Embassy in west London, waving placards that read “Gaza: End the Siege” and “Freedom for Palestine.”

The crowds blocked an entire road and several protesters managed to climb on top of a double-decker bus stuck in traffic, but police said the protest was largely peaceful, according to the report. Continue Reading »

Two men pointed what looked like firearms at police stationed outside a Paris synagogue in part of a weekend string of anti-Semitic incidents in and near the French capital.

The incident involving the police officers occurred on June 14 outside the synagogue on Julien Lacroix Street in eastern Paris’ 20th arrondissement, according to a report posted on Sunday on the website of the National League for Vigilance Against anti-Semitism, or BVCA.
