IDF soldiers fired at the legs of a Palestinian man attempting to plant an explosive on the Gaza – Israel border Monday.
The incident occurred on the border with northern Gaza. The man was hit by gunfire, though his condition remains unknown.
Over the weekend, the IDF opened fire on four separate occasions at Palestinians who entered the forbidden security zones near the fence and refused to vacate the area.
In at least one case, soldiers identified a suspect planting a bomb at the border.
In addition to the border incident, security forces on Monday morning located the remains of a rocket fired from Gaza into southern Israel overnight.
The rocket was found in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council after Code Red sirens were sounded in the area shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The projectile exploded near residential homes in the area.
No injuries or damage were reported in the attack.
