In response to Friday night’s firing of rockets on southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, the Israel Air Force attacked early on Saturday morning two military installations and two terrorist infrastructure targets belonging to Hamas in the coastal territory.
“The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for all terror activity that emanates from the Gaza Strip,” the IDF said in a statement.
“The IDF will continue to act forcefully against all attempts to disturb the peace in Israel’s southern communities,” the statement read.
Five rockets were fired from Gaza at Israel on Friday night, with two of the projectiles landing in Israeli territory. Three other rockets landed near the security fence inside the coastal Palestinian enclave.
There were no injuries or damage reported.
Rocket sirens sounded in Sderot and other Israeli towns bordering the Gaza Strip prior to the rockets’ landing.
