According to the report, two members of Al-Quds Brigades, the so-called “military wing” of the Islamic Jihad group, were killed as Israeli warplanes struck the al-Bureij neighborhood.

The two were identified by Ma’an as Mazen al-Hadba and Marwan Salim.

Further details were not immediately available.

An IDF spokeswoman quoted by Ma’an said the Israel Air Force had “managed to prevent a rocket attack” from central Gaza.

“A hit was confirmed,” the spokeswoman said.

The Home Front Command and IDF announced earlier on Sunday that a total of 110 rockets have hit Israel over the past five days, bringing the total this month to 135.

Of those, 21 were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system

The IDF spokeswoman told Ma’an that an additional 25 rockets had been fired from Gaza on Sunday.

Several ministers and MKs have called for Israel to retake or attack Gaza and institute a “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism over the weekend.
