Google has chosen an Israeli application as one of the first in the world to work with Google Glass – the search engine giant’s new wearable technology.

Any.do, considered one of the most popular Israeli applications, has won quite a lot of praise in the past. The application is available for Android phones and iPhones and allows users to write tasks and reminders and organize them easily.

The application’s new version, launched earlier this month, includes a new feature: Integration with Google’s smart glasses. So far, the main services operating on the glasses were produced by Google itself, and only few applications by external developers were allowed to interface with them, like CNN, New York Times and Twitter. They are now being joined by Any.do.

How will it work? Users will be able to record a reminder on Any.Do by speaking to Google Glass and watch reminders from the application on the glasses’ screen.

“We are delighted to be joining the program and developing for this fascinating platform,” said Any.do CEO Omer Perchik.

The application’s adaptation to Google Glass was made possible thanks to Perchik’s close relations with Google executives, including those leading the development of the smart glasses.

At the moment there are only several thousand experimenters using Google Glass as part of a pilot, but if the glasses are sold to the wide audience in the future – there is no doubt Any.do will gain quite a lot from being one of the first to work on the futuristic application.
