Shame Book: Facebook Called Upon to Remove All Hate Pages

Michael Mendelson’s group, Help Report Hate & Anti Semitic Pages has planned a Major Rally at Facebook HQ, Menlo Park Calif. on October 14, 2013, 10am.

The Rally is meant to force Facebook to recognize its social media platform is used to propagate hatred & abuse directed against Jews & Israel.

“ShameBook” must be completely socially responsible.

SAN FRANCISCO – September 27, 2013. Did ya’ hear the one about how Facebook routinely removes hate pages targeting racial minorities and the LGBT community, but allows anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish and anti-Israel hate pages to stay up online? No? Well, good, because it ain’t very funny, says Michael Mendelson, an average hard-working American, who is determined to do something about it.

On October 14, 2013 at exactly 10am, Mendelson is planning a major protest rally outside the Menlo Park, California headquarters of the international social media giant Facebook, Inc. with the purpose of sending a clear message across the world: Left unchecked, Facebook picks and chooses who can be publicly hated and attacked. Comparing the recent spate of hate pages targeting Jews to online bullying that targets individuals, Mendelson says it’s really a matter of life or death.

“I don’t think Facebook realizes that hate is still being propagated through abuse of their site. Just as more than one unfortunate and confused teenager who committed suicide as the result of hate pages targeting them on Facebook, hate pages targeting minority groups do hurt individuals in equal measure. Targeted groups are made up of individuals. Allowing vitriolic and targeted hate group pages such as “F*#k Israel” to stay up online is nothing less than a bureaucratic abomination. We want them taken down immediately. This is our message to Facebook,” says Mendelson.

Fortunately for the African American or Gay American, when enough people complain to Facebook, the pages are red-flagged then removed. All Mendelson is asking for is the same respectful treatment towards the Jewish American people, and implores Facebook to remove anti-Jewish, anti-Semitic and anti-Israel hate pages in the same swift fashion. Says Mendelson:

“Until they address this very important issue, we shall refer to them as “ShameBook. As far as I’m concerned, this is nothing less than an online Holocaust. Let’s do something before it’s too late.”

Michael Mendelson is confident his message will be heard, and so are thousands of supporters.

“Until changes are implemented, Facebook will be known as ‘ShameBook’. We’re confident once they pay attention, they will do the right thing.”
