The IDF did not return fire following the slightly wounding of an officer, part of an Engineering force attempting to extricate a stuck bulldozer.

An IDF officer was lightly wounded by a gunshot fired from Syria on Tuesday evening. The officer was treated at the scene in the northern Golan Heights and did not need to be evacuated from the scene.

The gunshot came from an area near Quneitra under the control of government troops.
The IDF did not give any special instructions to local residents of the area following the incident.
A military source said that the officer was part of the IDF Engineering Corps that was at the site to evacuate a bulldozer that was stuck. The officer was injured by shrapnel from a bullet that hit the bulldozer.
The IDF did not return fire following the incident.
The incident represented the first Israeli casualties on the northern border since Hezbollah in late January fired anti-tank missiles at an IDF patrol near Ghajar, killing two soldiers and wounding others in an attack in late January.
