Micron plant in Kiryat Gat sold to Intel

Having built the plant 15 years ago, this purchase marks a full circle for Intel, who later developed a much larger facility next door that today serves as the basis for its Israeli manufacturing operations.

 

 

The U.S. semiconductor company Intel said Sunday it had signed an agreement to take over the chip-making plant owned by Micron in Kiryat Gat and would retain most of its staff.

On Monday, representatives from Canton Fair, China’s largest trade exhibition, met in Tel Aviv’s David Intercontinental Hotel and urged Israeli businesses to join the event in mid-October. But for the first time, they were not courting just importers to distribute Chinese goods to Israel; instead, they laid out the case for Israeli businesses to sell to China.

Survey: 34% of Israeli managers lack academic degree

New survey examining education of executives in Israeli labor market reveals 63% lack management degree. Only 1/3 of those with management degree believe it has given them tools to solve managerial challenges.

A survey examining the training of executives in the Israeli labor market reveals that some 34% of managers in Israel have no academic degree.

Teva Pharma 1Q profit climbs 13%

Israeli company’s adjusted earnings beat Wall Street estimates; revenue rose about 25% to $5.1 billion from $4.08 billion a year ago

 

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.’s first quarter earnings climbed 13% as sales of branded drugs that came with the acquisition of Cephalon Inc. increased revenue for the world’s largest generic drugmaker.

Its adjusted earnings beat Wall Street estimates but revenue came in short, and its US shares fell 77 cents, or 1.7%, to $43.70 in premarket trading.
