Israel to set up Field Hospital in Africa to combat Ebola

After request by US & UN to send field hospitals to Africa, Israel’s Foreign Ministry announces it will send Israeli medical crews and 3 mobile emergency clinics to area.

After Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon rejected a special request by the US and UN to send IDF field hospitals to Ebola hit Liberia and Sierra Leone, the Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday its intention to send three mobile emergency clinics to areas in West Africa where there is a risk of infection with the virus.

Israel dispatched medical teams to Sierra Leone & Cameroon to deal with Ebola

 

Jerusalem dispatches highly trained medical teams to African counties, and an Israeli drug company offers to mass produce experimental medication.

Israel over the past month has been playing an increasingly central role in the global battle against the Ebola epidemic in West Africa that the UN Security Council recently deemed a “threat to international peace and security.”

Over 6,000 cases of Ebola have been reported and over 3,000 people have died of the disease in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia since the start of the year. The actual numbers are estimated to be much higher, though most cases are concealed for fear of forced quarantine.

Israeli NGO joining int’l efforts to combat Ebola outbreak

Israel’s humanitarian assistance group IsraAID, announced it is sending a team of trained medical personal to join int’l community’s fight against deadly virus in Western Africa.

 

Israel is increasing its assistance effort to help combat Ebola in Africa, Israel media reported Sunday.

IsraAID, the Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid, announced on its Facebook page Friday that it is sending a team to join the international community in fighting the spread of Ebola in Western Africa.
