Israeli firm begins advanced trials for non-opioide alternative in U.S.

Headquartered in Herzliya, the Israeli pharmaceutical received the go-ahead from the FDA to commence advanced trials in the U.S. on its long-lasting pain-killer, confidant it will replace the commonly used and highly addictive opiate-based medicines.

JERUSALEM – Israeli pharmaceuticals company PainReform has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to begin late-stage clinical studies for a pain relief drug that is a departure from opiate-based narcotics, it said on Tuesday.

Many patients today dealing with pain after surgery are prescribed opioids, which can be highly addictive and are at the heart of a costly health crisis in the United States. Continue Reading »

FDA approves Israeli-made theraputic contact lense

Patients on a waiting list for a corneal transplant or who’s suffering from chronic pain will benefit from the Israeli developed contact lens that are now entering the market.

The FDA has approved a new therapeutic contact lens that will help treat corneal edema, a common eye condition in adults that causes swelling, a build-up of fluid, blurred vision, haziness and scarring. EyeYon, the Israeli company responsible for this development, created these special lenses in an effort to increase the amount of time eye drops can remain in the eye in order to help alleviate symptoms of the condition which is common after cataract and corneal transplant surgeries. Israeli ‘wearable robot’ gets FDA approval to allow paraplegics to walk

The FDA has approved Israel’s ReWalk, a set of motorized leg braces that is sometimes described as a robotic exoskeleton,for home use in the United States.

 

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a wearable support device produced by Yokne’am-based ReWalk Robotics that can help some people with spinal cord injuries to walk again.

ReWalk, a set of motorized leg braces that is sometimes described as a robotic exoskeleton, was approved in the United States for home use only.

The braces support the wearer’s legs and lower torso, while the motors provide movements to the knees, thighs and ankles, enabling some paraplegics to sit, stand and walk.
