Gaza’s Hamas rulers urged Egypt on Wednesday to reopen the border crossing with Gaza that was closed after Islamist terrorists killed 25 Egyptian security personnel in northern Sinai earlier this week.

The officers were killed as they were travelling in two buses which came under attack from armed men close to the town of Rafiah, on the Gaza border. As a result of the attack, Egypt closed down the Rafiah crossing between the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza. Continue Reading »

IDF kill Palestinian on Gaza border after crossing into Israel

Gazan allegedly carrying an item that troops could not see clearly and ignored warnings, was shot dead.

Israeli troops killed a Palestinian who crossed in from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Saturday, fearing he was a security threat though he proved to be unarmed, military sources said.

The man, who was not immediately identified, had first drawn soldiers’ suspicions by digging into the ground on the Gazan side of the fortified border fence, where Palestinian gunmen have in the past mounted ambushes, an army spokeswoman said.

He then clambered over the fence, carrying an item that the troops could not see clearly, she said.

IDF Security Screw-up as Gazan Reaches Jewish Community

An unarmed man from Gaza succeeded in penetrating all the IDF defenses & reach the town of Netivot. Security officials concerned.

A man from Gaza managed to get past several layers of IDF security and to reach the Israeli city of Netivot shortly before Passover, Yisrael Hayom reports.

The man was unarmed and apparently did not plan to carry out a terrorist attack. His infiltration has caused great concern in the defense establishment regardless, as it is feared that he could have shown terrorists a way of entering Israel.
