Former Palestinian Intelligence Chief: Only solution now is single Palestinian state

The ex-chief of Palestinian intelligence Tawfik Tirawi suggests the president of Palestine will be a Palestinian Muslim & the vice president can be a Palestinian Jew, adding that those are just details.

Abbas’ PA issues oil exploration tender for outside the West Bank city of Qalqilya

The project is expected to generate more than $1 billion in taxes, royalties & other bonuses for Abbas’ Palestinian Authority.

The Palestinian Authority on Tuesday issued a tender for oil exploration in the West Bank for a license it said could hold between 30 and 186 million barrels of oil.

The project will be run as a joint venture, with the government-owned Palestine Investment Fund having at least a 25 percent stake, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mohammad Mustafa said in a statement.
The area of the license, outside the West Bank city of Qalqilya, is near a small field being developed by Israeli firm Givot Olam northeast of Tel Aviv.

Palestinians tell Obama: ‘We Have Nothing Left to Make Concessions On’

Palestinian Authority statement adds that the dream of peace is slowly fading away & any 2-state solution is ‘evaporating.’

 

The Palestinians responded Wednesday to U.S. President Barack Obama’s promise to pressure Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas “to make tough decisions” in their March 17 meeting, saying they have nothing left to make concessions on.

Jordanian tribe distancing from Sheikh after claims Israel belongs to Jews

 

Sheikh Ahmed Aladoan, who visited Israel last year, supports the idea that Jordan is Palestine, and based his assertions that Palestinian claims to Israel are erroneous, not supported by the Koran.

 

A sheikh from Jordan’s prominent Adwan tribe caused a stir recently when he said that Israel belongs to the Jews, and that Palestinian claims to the territory are false.

Sheikh Ahmed Aladoan of Amman, who made the remarks on his Facebook page, based his assertions on the Koran. In a post earlier this month he said that those who “distort the word of the Koran” are liars, and questioned the origins of the word Palestine.

Abbas: Temple Mount to be in Palestine, but Jews can pray at Western Wall

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday the Palestinian Authority would not agree to share sovereignty over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in the course of a peace deal with Israel, but would allow freedom of worship for Jews in the Western Wall Plaza.

Addressing about 300 Israeli students at a meeting in Ramallah, organized by the Lobby for the Promotion of a Solution for the Israeli-Arab Conflict and by a Palestinian group for promoting Israeli-Palestinian dialogue, Abbas added that he sees no reason to re-divide Jerusalem, adding that a Palestinian municipality could be established in East Jerusalem, which will coordinate with an Israeli-controlled West Jerusalem via a higher body.

Sir Paul McCartney: Palestinians & Israelis need peace

Former ‘Beatle’ says all donations made to ‘OneVoice,’ the Israeli-Palestinian youth peace initiative, will be doubled after 5th of December.

Former Beatles member and British music sensation Sir Paul McCartney is pledging to support a Middle East peace initiative because “Israelis and Palestinians deserve peace,” he said.

As of Thursday December 5, McCartney announced on his Twitter feed that all donations made to the organization, OneVoice, will be doubled beginning December 5th.

The youth organization, OneVoice, aimed at educating Israeli and Palestinian youth in Middle East conflict resolution, has developed a Youth Leadership Program, and have set a fundraising goal of £260,000, of which as of Thursday, £15,266 had been raised.

Palestinians win their 1st Emmy with ‘5 Broken Cameras’

Emad Burnat, from the village of Bil’in, who co-directed the Oscar-nominated film with Israel’s Guy Davidi, is the 1st Palestinian to have won an Emmy.

 

 

The Oscar-nominated film “5 Broken Cameras,” a chronicle of Palestinian nonviolent resistance co-directed by Palestinian Emad Burnat and Israeli Guy Davidi, nabbed the best documentary award at the 41st annual International Emmy Awards.

FIFA head hosts Palestine-Israel soccer talks with goal to play

ZURICH — FIFA President Sepp Blatter hopes to have a solution by year’s end to the problem of Israeli security restrictions affecting Palestinian football, after holding talks with the two sides on Tuesday.

Once again, Israeli & Palestinian medics arrive at the scene of an accident where they work together with only one thing on their minds, to save lives.

Yesterday, a young Palestinian man was struck by a car while riding his donkey in the village of Huwwara, near Nablus. To save his life, IDF paramedics and Magen David Adom – an Israeli civilian volunteer organization – joined together with the Palestinian police and the Red Crescent.
