Defense Minister Yaalon: I Blocked Rajoub’s Entry into Israel

Defense Minister explains why he turned down Meretz’s request to host the inciting Palestinian Authority Minister.

Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon explained Saturday evening that he had decided to block Palestinian Authority official Jibril Rajoub’s entry to Israel before the Meretz party invited him to its conference.

Jibril Rajoub - YouTube screenshotMeretz head Zehava Galon that the defense ministry’s refusal to allow Rajoub into the country in order to take part in the conference smacked of politicking. She noted that Rajoub had recently been allowed to speak before the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).

Palestinian gov’t official to Israel: Beware! We are Enemies

Palestinian official Rajoub, interviewed on Lebanese TV, breaks from moderate tone of PA leaders saying, ‘Palestinians are the enemies of Israel & if we had nuclear weapons, we would use them against Israel’

Rajoub, one of several Palestinian leaders who signed the Geneva Initiative, had stated on previous occasions that he was interested in peace with Israel.

Jibril Rajoub, a Fatah Central Committee member who recently visited Lebanon, said in an interview with the Hezbollah affiliated television network Al Mayadeen, “We the Palestinians are the enemies of Israel.”

In the interview, which took place earlier this month, Rajoub emphasized that Fatah now supports popular resistance, but has not abandoned the idea of armed resistance. Continue Reading »

Palestinian official: ‘If we had a nuke, we’d have used it this morning’

Last week, Palestinian Media Watch reported that only hours after the murder, [of Evyatar Borovsky, an Israeli who was stabbed to death] the administrator of Fatah’s official Facebook page glorified Al-Zaghal as a “hero.”

During an interview on a Lebanese TV channel, the host referred to “the negotiations game” with Israel, and Rajoub expressed the view that negotiations are held because the Palestinians lack military strength:

“I swear that if we had a nuke, we’d have used it this very morning.”

FIFA, football’s global body asks Israel Football Association to help secure Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub’s “freedom of movement”.

Israeli defense official explains that Rajoub’s status was changed because he “incited to violence against Israel.”

The Federation of International Football Associations, the Zurich-based global soccer governing body, is asking Israel to return VIP status to Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub and allow him to enter Israel without security checks.

FIFA said Wednesday that it had asked the Israeli Football Association to help secure Rajoub’s “freedom of movement.”
