Rabbi fuming as she and 4 other BDS activists denied boarding flight to Israel

#BDSfail: Lufthansa officials at Dulles International Airport inform 5 ‘Jewish Voice for Peace’ activists that a gov’t representative in Jerusalem refuses to allow them to land in Israel.

Five members of an interfaith delegation to Israel were prevented from boarding their flight from Washington, DC, reportedly due to their activism on behalf of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

The Jewish Voice for Peace organization said in a statement Monday that the delegation tried to check into its Lufthansa flight at Dulles International Airport, only to be told that the Israeli government had ordered the airline not to let the five passengers aboard. Continue Reading »

Boeing’s new 747-8 lands in Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport

 

Lufthansa’s 747-8 flight to Israel was an  exhibition flight to promote the new plane, not a regular commercial flight.

Boeing’s new 747-8, the longest commercial passenger airplane in the world, landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Tuesday for the first time. The Lufthansa airliner was greeted by a festive champagne and hors d’oevres reception attended by Ben-Gurion Airport officials, Lufthansa senior staff, travel industry professionals, the media and airplane enthusiasts.

Lufthansa is the launch customer of the new Boeing “Queen of the Skies,” which is a new generation of the landmark 747-400 that has enhanced features such as improved fuel efficiency, reduced noise and a higher number of business-class seats.
