In the wake of reports that Israel attacked a shipment of “game changing” long range, ground-to-ground missiles intended for Hezbollah in Syria Friday night, Ibrahim Amin al-Sayed, head of Hezbollah’s political bureau, said that his organization “is ready to prevent Syria from falling into Tel Aviv and Washington’s hands”.

Israel to finalize establishment of new search-and-rescue units by end of 2013 for rapid response in event of future war.
The IDF Home Front Command plans to finalize the establishment of two new search-and-rescue battalions by the end of next year to be able to provide a rapid response capability in the event of a future war.
Brig.-Gen. Zviki Tessler, deputy commander of the Home Front Command, told The Jerusalem Post on Monday that the establishment of the new battalions would dramatically improve the IDF’s ability to assist the civilian population.
He also revealed that the soldiers in the search-and-rescue battalions would soon undergo training to become certified firefighters. Continue Reading »
Report: Assad has ordered his military to hit Israel with a barrage of missiles should there be any foreign intervention in Syria.
Syrian President Bashar Assad has ordered the heads of his military to hit Israel with a barrage of missiles should there be any foreign intervention in Syria, a Jordanian news website reported on Saturday.
According to the site, Our Country’s News, Assad gave the order in a secret meeting with the heads of the Syrian army last Thursday, in light of his fear of a U.S. military strike in Syria.
The report said that Assad ordered that if any military action is started against Syria, the Syrian army should respond by firing missiles in Israel, with a particular emphasis on Israeli military airports. Continue Reading »
