FACEBOOK VIOLATES ITS OWN PRINCIPLES with Arab Israeli Journalist’s Page

Arab Israeli journalist Khaled abu Toameh told The Jewish Press in a lengthy interview about Facebook’s bizarre treatment of his Facebook page.

Facebook has yet given a word of explanation to abu Toameh, why his page was shut down, parts of it were deleted, and then put back up.

Facebook deactivates page of Palestinian writer posting anti-corruption articles

Veteran Journalist Khaled Abu Toameh, has had his Facebook account deactivated because of Hamas & PA threats, ‘simply’ for posting articles detailing Palestinian Authority corruption.

Social networking website Facebook has today been accused of attempting to silence critics of the Palestinian Authority as it cracked down on the page owned by Arab-Israeli writer Khaled Abu Toameh.

Abu Toameh, the son of an Arab Israeli father and a Palestinian mother, is a former senior reporter for the Jerusalem Post. He has reported that as of yesterday, his Facebook page had been deactivated.

The Commentator has learned that following complaints from the Palestinian Authority and Jordanian security authorities about his articles dealing with corruption, Facebook had taken the steps necessary to effectively censor his work.

‘Fatah has secret bank account in Jordan’

Former Arafat advisor reveals that he has all necessary documents to prove existence of account with $39 million.

Yasser Arafat’s former financial advisor, Mohammed Rashid, revealed over the weekend that Fatah has a secret bank account in Jordan with $39 million.

Rashid said that the original sum was $44 million, but dropped after the Fatah leadership spent $5 million on the faction’s sixth annual conference.

 

Rashid, who was Arafat’s “moneyman” for many years, said he had all the necessary documents to prove the existence of the bank account.

He said that only PA President Mahmoud Abbas and two of his associates were authorized to deal with the secret account.
