In an unusually strong statement, the White House & US State Department called plans to construct a ‘significant’ new settlement of up to 300 housing units in the West Bank ‘deeply troubling’ and undermines the peace process.
– The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented in reply, “The 98 housing units approved in Shilo do not constitute a ‘new settlement.'”
