Int’l experts from 30 countries in Israel to learn ‘disaster response’ procedures

 

In coordination with the Soroka Medical Center, the Health Ministry’s Emergency Dept, the IDF Home Front Command, & the IDF Medical Corps, hundreds of int’l health professionals visit Israeli hospitals to learn how to effectively deal with a natural disaster or massive terror attack.

Hundreds of professionals from 30 countries participated in a large-scale exercise at the Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva this week, simulating the evacuation of dozens of casualties following a massive terrorist attack.

Dozens of simulated casualties with various degrees of injury were evacuated to Soroka in scenarios mimicking a terror attack in a populated urban facility and leakage of hazardous materials from a train car. Continue Reading »

2 IDF soldiers wounded on Israel-Egypt border

Large Israeli forces sweeping the area to eliminate possible terrorist infiltration from the Sinai.

Unrelated: 5 IDF soldiers injured when their jeep flips over nearby.

 

Two soldiers were wounded on Wednesday in a shooting incident near the border with Egypt, the Israeli military confirmed.

The two were soldiers from the mixed Caracal infantry battalion, one of them a female company commander. They were evacuated by helicopter to the Soroka Medical Center, Be’er Sheva.

Soldier lightly injured as his ‘Chariot’ overturns during IDF tank training

A tank diverged from its route and rolled over on Tuesday during an IDF training exercise in the southern base of Zeelim. One soldier was lightly injured and taken to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.

Three other soldiers who were manning the tank were not injured, but were taken for medical examinations nonetheless.

The reserve brigade commander, who commanded the exercise, arrived at the the scene with senior officers to examine the circumstances of the accident. Continue Reading »
