Tel Aviv holds its annual all-night culture & entertainment event ‘White Night 2014’

 

Tel Aviv annual all-night arts & culture festival includes live music, street theater & a yoga session by the Mediterranean at dawn.

Tel Aviv is on Thursday night holding its annual all-night culture and entertainment event, running from the early evening hours to the break of dawn. Most of the events are free of charge or at a discount price. On the menu: music concerts, parties, art exhibitions, multimedia theatre, dance performances, fashion, shopping and more.

The events are taking place across the city, including various activities at the Jaffa flea market, Jaffa port, Hatikva market, Rabin Square, Sarona, the old Ottoman railway station (HaTachana) and many more locations. The early evening saw various activities for children across the city, and on Friday there were to be free art exhibits in various museums in Bat Yam, Petah Tikva, Herzliya, Holon and Tel Aviv.

Throughout the night, Yedioth Aharonoth photographers were to document the different events and the thousands of photos shown on three giant screens at the Sarona compound, Rothchild Boulevard and Rabin Square. This is your chance to be a star, so take out your camera and grab your moment of fame.

These are just a taste of dozens of other events. The city’s galleries, museums and many businesses will remain open all night long. Restaurants will offer a special night menu, and the Bauhaus buildings in the city center will be lit up.

All night long

Sing-along: 20:30-01:30 at HaTachana
A celebration of Hebrew songs at the old railway compound and a sing-along to the music of the Tel Avivim band. In addition there will be performances by Moshe Lahav, Ruti Navon and Hanny Nahmias.

 
Midnight concert at the Israeli Opera
The opera performance runs from midnight until the small hours. The concert includes opera favorites, duets, ensembles, operettas, musicals and more. Shaul HaMelech 19 at from midnight. Price NIS 65.

 
Laugh the night away
Tel Aviv Cinematheque is running a Monty Python film marathon to mark their historical reunion. Haarbaa 5. 21:00 – 01:30.

 
Music on the move
Live music from the bands Dixieland and The New Orleans Function as they perform atop open-air buses.

Jaffa flea market
Various artistic events are taking place at the market, including live music performances, street theatre, a writing workshop and much more. 21:00 – 01:00.

 
Body and Soul
Welcome the sunrise with yoga at the Tel Aviv Port. With Ronit Factor Vardi. The workout is open to everyone and free of charge.
