Deputy PM Moshe Yaalon vowed no mercy for Gaza terror gangs who continue to fire rockets at Israel’s south.

Minister of Strategic Affairs Minister and deputy premier Moshe Yaalon on Thursday said Israel would make terrorists “beg us to stop.”

“As long as they fire, it isn’t over,” Yaalon said as rocket fire on Israel’s south enters seventh straight day despite a theoretical cease-fire brokered late Monday evening.

“Anyone threatening us is risking his life. We will retaliate until they beg us to stop,” Yaalon said. “They have to realize that the consequences of the rocket fire are not worth it.”

His comments were widely taken as a tacit admission that the current cease-fire is a sham.

Earlier on Thursday a Grad rocket slammed into downtown Beer Sheva near a school, prompting the mayor to overrule a “green light” from the IDF Home Front Command sending children back to school.

No classes will be held in Beer Sheva on Friday.

The Beer Sheva attack came just hours after another rocket exploded in downtown Netivot. No physical injuries were reported in the attack.

Last night the IAF launched twin strikes on terror cells launching rockets. The attacks came as at least eight rockets were fired at Israel’s southern communities on Wednesday, including one that injured a resident of Netivot.

The uptick in rocket fire began shortly after Israel targeted and killed the head of the Popular Resistance Committees – Zuhir Musa Ahmed Qaisi – on Friday afternoon. His deputy, Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud Hanani, was also killed.

Intelligence sources said Qaisi was planning a terror attack on Israel’s recently reopened Route 12, which was the site of a deadly terror attack the PRCs carried out last year resulting in eight Israelis being killed.

The Popular Resistance Committees are also responsible for over 10,000 rockets and mortar shells fired at Israel’s southern communities since 2001.

During the four days of hostilities prior to the truce, terror groups fired more than 200 rockets at Israeli civilians, while the IAF responded with airstrikes.

The IAF launched a total of 37 airstrikes in Gaza during the four day exchange. 19 strikes targeted rocket-launchers and 18 targeted weapons warehouses.

26 Gazans were killed in the IAF airstrikes. Of these, at least 22 were terrorists.
