Ahed Tamimi, the 17 yr-old Palestinian blond, blue-eyed poster child, known for inciting violence with IDF soldiers ‘for the camera’, was charged with aggravated assault, incitement, hindering a soldier in the line of duty, threatening a soldier’s life and stone-throwing after attacking 2 IDF soldiers who refused to react to her vocal & physical abuse in Nabi Salih, along with her mother & cousin.

Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi, 17, and her mother Nariman were indicted on Monday for assaulting IDF soldiers in the West Bank village of Nabi Salih.

Ahed was charged with 12 different counts for six different incidents, including aggravated assault, hindering a soldier in the line of duty, incitement, threatening a soldier’s life and stone-throwing.

According to the indictment, which was filed at the Judea Military Court, Ahed Tamimi threw stones at Israeli security forces, threatened them, participated in violent rioting and incited others to participate in the clashes.

Her mother, Nariman Tamimi, was also indicted for her involvement in the assault, as well as for another incident she was involved in along with her daughter last month. She was also charged with incitement to terrorism on Facebook.

The 21-year-old Nur Tamimi, Ahed’s cousin, was charged on Sunday with aggravated assault of a soldier and hindering a soldier in the line of duty.

The military prosecution asked to hold Ahed, Nur and Nariman Tamimi in remand until the end of legal proceedings against them.

A short video of the incident showed the young Tamimi women, with one of them provoking soldiers stationed in Nabi Salih, pestering them and attempting to kick and punch them, while the soldiers maintained their composure and did not respond.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Ahed’s father Bassem Tamimi last week to encourage him and inquire as to his daughter’s wellbeing. Tamimi, a well-known Fatah activist, told Abbas his daughter—who was arrested when the video was published—was in good spirits, remained strong and firm in the belief of the righteousness of her ways and stood ready to “challenge the Israeli occupation.”

The incident two weeks ago was not the first time Tamimi was filmed provoking soldiers. Several years ago, she was filmed biting a soldier who came to arrest her brother during a weekly Nabi Salih protest. In another instance, she was shown screaming at a member of Israel’s security forces during a demonstration in an attempt to provoke him to lose his cool.
